Saturday Run!

So in about a week, I'm running a 5K race with my friend Brittany (I posted about it here) and today I went on a 3 mile run--yay! It was pretty cold out, but luckily (?!), I had been wide awake since 6am, so I had lots of energy and motivation by noon, so I was ready to go!

I bundled myself up  with lots of layers--weather in Virginia is so weird--two days ago, it was 65 degrees and I had to turn on my AC in the trailer, today is it barely 40 degrees and windy...

So I ran around the neighborhood and decided to take a route that took me past my old elementary school, which was fun to see! It had been awhile since I had been back to good old Oak Hill, and I love that school so much!
So many good memories!

As you can see, kind of cold/dreary day today!
And I got to see the brick that my family donated when they made a courtyard for the 25th anniversary of the school! I came for the special ceremony they had when they opened the courtyard, but I had to leave before they let people go see the bricks, so I actually had never seen ours before, so I was so happy to see it today! (I know that might sound weird, but really, we had so many great years at this school growing up!)

Very cool!

So although I was overall happy with my time and ability to run the 3 miles with only a few very brief breaks, it was still definitely hard to keep going---several moments of praying "Okay, God, please help me get up that hill and keep going!"

But I just kept reminding myself of two things:

and

I hope everyone is having a WONDERFUL weekend so far! :)
