Favorite movie of all time?

Oooh, this is a tough one because I LOVE movies and have many favorites, but I think I'd have to say Ever After! I love Drew Barrymore and it's a great spin on Cinderella...plus the movie has (obviously!) a happy ending--girl gets her prince...sounds good to me! ;) :)

Favorite movie quote?

Can I just say the entire movie of Mean Girls? It is ridiculous how many quotes my sisters and I trade back and forth from that movie...."That is so fetch!" "Get in loser, we're going shopping!" "If you're from Africa, why are you white? "Oh my God Karen, you can't just ask people why they are white..." "Glenn Coco? FOUR for you, Glenn Coco! You go, Glenn Coco!" Haha...love that movie!

Best movie to watch for a girls night in?

Oh, hands down, The Notebook! I think there was a semester in college where my roommates and I might have definitely watched that movie on a weekly basis. We even (somehow) convinced some of our guy friends to watch it one night and let's just say, the tissue box was passed around to everyone and not because of "allergies" like the guys tried to claim, hah!! Good times--although I guess when you invite guys over, that does kind of eliminate girls night, doesn't it? Haha!

Best breakup movie?

Hmm, I would say probably any "feel good" movie like The Little Mermaid or any Disney movie (yes, I sometimes act like I'm 8 years old, haha) OR maybe a movie that reminds me that love is out there...something like Love Actually! Love that movie...

Favorite celeb eye candy?

Hands down, Ryan Gosling. I know I talk about him all the time, but he is gorgeous! Sigh... :)

Which movie stars closet would you want to raid?

Well, I'm going to cheat on this question a little, because although this person is not in movies, she is a celebrity and I love her style--Lauren Conrad! She is SO adorable--I love her outfits, so stylish and classic!

What's Going On....

This past weekend was a busy but fun one! :)

 On Friday night, I spent some time with the boy and we met up to see a movie in Alexandria. I had wanted to see The Lucky One and since he's totally awesome, he agreed to go see it with me!

Well, I checked for the movie time on Thursday, but didn't think to check again on Friday and the theater pulled that movie! :( Booo! Erin Movie Fail: 1. Awesome, lol...

Luckily, we both also wanted to see Think Like a Man and there was a showing a little later. So we ate a quick dinner at Ruby Tuesdays and then saw the movie, which was SO funny. I would definitely recommend it--it was hysterical! I almost never see movies in the theater more than once, but I would go see this again! We had a great time hanging out and I just love spending time with him! :)

I also got to hang out with his adorable little puppy, Orville--I love this little guy! :) Isn't he soooo cute? 

So sweet!

On Sunday, I spent the day with my family celebrating Mother's Day and my wonderful, amazing mother! She really is the best! We had a delicious brunch at home, went out for a long drive in the country, walked around an abbey in the middle of literally nowhere, haha,  and then went to a winery and had a great time wine-tasting! And left with 6 bottles of wine, hah! (Hey, what can I say? The wine was delish....)

These past few days of school have been SO busy with so much to do as we prep the kids for some very important tests coming up. 

The kids are very eager to show what they've learned this year as is shown in this exchange below that took place during math:

Me: "Now, does anyone else have any questions about our review packet or the problems we've gone over today?"

Girl Student: "I don't have a question about math, but I do have two questions for you: My first is, do you have a favorite member of One Direction and my second is, are you excited for Pretty Little Liars to come back on in 23 days?" 

Umm, seriously?!? We are in the middle of an important math review and that is what they are wondering about--omg! 

(Side note: How sad is it that I actually was able to answer those questions with "Well, I think I like Harry Styles the best because he has a great voice...and yes, I cannot wait to see what happens next with "A" on Pretty Little Liars!" Sad, but true...haha! These girls know me too well!)

And just to add a little bit more excitement to the already crazy busy day, we had a real, legitimate fire alarm--eek! I was sitting in the teacher's lounge, almost done with lunch, when the alarm went off and we all knew immediately that a drill would never be done during lunchtime. So I quickly ran hobbled to the cafeteria to round up my darlings and get them outside safely. Some of them followed me but a few others followed another 6th grade teacher's class to a different fire drill location (Not sure why exactly, but as long as they were safe, it's okay!) 

The kids who were with me kept asking me if I knew if those kids had "survived", which is actually really sweet slash amusing. Aw! Haha... It turns out that there was not a fire but one of the mechanical rooms (?) got overheated, which automatically set off the alarm. Even still, we were out of the building for about 35 minutes while the fire department checked everything out. Definitely a huge relief that everything was okay!

Today I looked at the calendar and realized that my trip to Mexico is less than two weeks away---yea! Super excitement/packing panic modes are in full force now! I'm going to go write my trip/packing list right now...!

Weekend Recap...

This past weekend was a busy one...I was able to:

- finish my work for two professional development online classes I took this semester! Yea! I didn't love having to do work on a Friday night, but it is nice to have those classes done and I got really good feedback from my facilitators.. :-D

- watch several episodes of the first season of Downton Abbey! I LOVE this show! I don't know how I possibly missed it when it first came out, but once I started hearing about how good it is, I had to watch it! So now I'm done with Season 1 and ready to watch Season 2 on DVD....

- hang out with my friends Kim and Meghan on Saturday night....I love these girls so much! Kim is going to be working overseas this summer and we decided to organize a trip to France after Kim's project is done! 

• Sooo, Saturday night, we planned our trip to France..in a bar...complete with notebooks, iteraries, etc. Haha! Classy, I know! ;) After awhile, we did progress to a nearby Barnes and Noble when it started to get really noisy in the bar...and then sat in the Starbucks cafe while looking at travel books for free, haha....) I'm SO excited!

- grade about 200 papers, quizzes, and projects, and then inputting the report card grades.... grades...whew! It took forever, but that's okay, because I also got to see

THE HUNGER GAMES!

I'm SO glad I went to see it and I really liked it! It's obviously different from the book and I don't want to spoil it for anyone who might not have seen it yet or hasn't read the books. But I thought the acting was superb and I just loved seeing it! If you haven't read the books, I HIGHLY recommend them. But start reading them when you have a good chunk of time because you will likely not be able to put them down! Well, maybe that's just me, but I'm one of those people who will read until way past my bedtime if it's a really good book. The movie is also fantastic but I would read the books first and then see it! Just my thoughts.... :)

Hunger Games!

I cannot believe that this is the week that Hunger Games is coming out!! I'm SO excited! I have been waiting for this for SO LONG! Yay!!!!!

(I also can't believe that I'm going to make myself wait to see the movie until I've finished a big project for an online professional development class, a project that is about 75% of my grade and is due by the end of the day Saturday! I guess I'm becoming a grown-up and doing my work first, then having fun second...sigh...)

Earlier today, my dad showed me a hilarious Hunger Games parody and I thought I'd share it for my fellow Hunger Games fans out there....

Hahaha! Oh too funny! My favorite part was probably when she smacked her arm with the string on her bow and arrow (although I know from experience how much that can hurt, lol! )

After watching it about 4 times with my dad, I convinced my dad that he HAD to watch the real trailer to decide if he wanted to see the movie, and after the trailer was over, he asked me a question about something from the movie and I proceeded to talk about it for....oh about the next 15 minutes (hey, whatever--he did ask me a question!) :) I'm not sure if I sold him on it or not, but oh well! I'm going to go see it at the very first showing after I get my project completed! I can't wait!!

Haha! Saw this on Pinterest and it made me laugh...and is pretty much true... :)
