It's Ok Thursday!

Today I'm linking up with Neely and Amber for It's Ok Thursday!

It's ok to...

* change into pajama pants as soon as I get home from work (lol--I do this way too often, I know!)..even though it's now summer break, I still lounge around in PJs more than is probably socially acceptable, haha!

* crank up the AC when it's ridiculously hot outside! (A typical Virginia summer has hit us full force--I hate the humidity! Blahh...)

* spend lots of time pinning craft projects on Pinterest that I will probably never have time to get to...and still enjoying every cute, adorable pin I find!

* think my boyfriend watches too many episodes of Storage Wars....hah!

* yet... watch more shows on ABC Family than any other channel (Pretty Little Liars, Bunheads, Jane by Design, etc.)

* to paint my nails multiple times a week..(hey, it's summer break for this teacher...going to enjoy it while I can!)

* to be literally sick and tired of doctors offices and medical facilities...between all the drama with my 3 months and counting saga of The Sprained Ankle That Won't Get Better and this week's Cornea Abrasions and Corneal Ulcer infection, I am sooooo ready to be done with medical appointments and procedures...(Also? I had literally no idea it was even possible to get an ulcer in your eye...SO weird!)

* be counting down the days until my trip to Europe! (17 days--eek!!) Can't wait to explore the sights of London, Ireland and France with 3 fabulous friends!!! :) :)

Social Sunday!

Today I'm linking up with Neely and Ashley for Sunday Social! This week's questions all relate to music! :)

What is your all-time favorite song?
Ooh this is a tough one because I have SO many favorites, but I'd have to say "Living on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi! I LOVE him! I saw him in concert two years ago and he is a fantastic performer!

What is your favorite singer/band?
Again, super hard to pick just one, but I absolutely adore Taylor Swift! I've seen her in concert twice and she's amazing! Her songs are so great---I can't think of one song of hers that I don't like, haha...

What is your theme song/song that best describes your life?
I have always loved "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!" Haha...this song is so catchy, cheerful and always brings a smile to my face!

What is your favorite road-trip music?
I'd say musical soundtracks are the key to road trips...especially if I'm going on one with my mom--we love Momma Mia, Wicked, Les Miserables, The Sound of Music--you get the idea!! :)

What song are you embarrassed to admit you love?
I am without a doubt hooked on all of the boy bands---NSync, Backstreet Boys, New Kids on the Block, 98 Degrees, etc.! I still listen to them all the time and last June, my friend Tabitha and I went to see the BSB NKTOB reunion tour (and yes, I do go to a lot of concerts, haha....one of the bonuses of living outside of Washington DC!) and it was literally one of the BEST concerts ever! We could hardly speak the next day--ahh, it was so much fun!

Can't wait to read what everyone else says about their music favorites!! :)

Sunday Social!

Today I'm linking up with Neely and Ashley for Round 2 of Sunday Social!

Favorite movie of all time?
Oooh, this is a tough one because I LOVE movies and have many favorites, but I think I'd have to say Ever After! I love Drew Barrymore and it's a great spin on Cinderella...plus the movie has (obviously!) a happy ending--girl gets her prince...sounds good to me! ;) :)

Favorite movie quote?
Can I just say the entire movie of Mean Girls? It is ridiculous how many quotes my sisters and I trade back and forth from that movie...."That is so fetch!" "Get in loser, we're going shopping!" "If you're from Africa, why are you white? "Oh my God Karen, you can't just ask people why they are white..." "Glenn Coco? FOUR for you, Glenn Coco! You go, Glenn Coco!" Haha...love that movie!

Best movie to watch for a girls night in?
Oh, hands down, The Notebook! I think there was a semester in college where my roommates and I might have definitely watched that movie on a weekly basis. We even (somehow) convinced some of our guy friends to watch it one night and let's just say, the tissue box was passed around to everyone and not because of "allergies" like the guys tried to claim, hah!! Good times--although I guess when you invite guys over, that does kind of eliminate girls night, doesn't it? Haha!

Best breakup movie?
Hmm, I would say probably any "feel good" movie like The Little Mermaid or any Disney movie (yes, I sometimes act like I'm 8 years old, haha) OR maybe a movie that reminds me that love is out there...something like Love Actually! Love that movie...

Favorite celeb eye candy?
Hands down, Ryan Gosling. I know I talk about him all the time, but he is gorgeous! Sigh... :)

Which movie stars closet would you want to raid?
Well, I'm going to cheat on this question a little, because although this person is not in movies, she is a celebrity and I love her style--Lauren Conrad! She is SO adorable--I love her outfits, so stylish and classic!

***********************************************************************************

And on another note, I want to wish my dad a VERY happy Father's Day! Although I'm not quite sure if he even knows I have a blog and probably won't be reading this, thanks for being a fabulous dad and I'm excited to celebrate the day today!! :)

Book Review: Between You and Me

Last week I was super excited when I saw a tweet by @EmmaNicola, the Twitter account for authors Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus.  I absolutely LOVE their books. Their book The Nanny Diaries is literally one of my favorite books of all time. They posted about looking for bloggers to read and review their new book Between You and Me that just came out yesterday and I was unbelievably thrilled to do this!

The book highlights the events that occur when Logan Wade,  the cousin of a famous singer named Kelsey, is called by Kelsey's assistant to visit her, even though they have not been in contact for years. Despite the tension that exists between Logan and her aunt and uncle, Michelle and Andy, Logan becomes Kelsey's assistant and is quickly pulled into the ins and outs of her celebrity lifestyle.

I honestly was so hooked on this book and dying to know what happened next that I read 140 pages without putting it down! I am a big reader, but even that is a first for me! I finally realized that it was really late and I had to work the next day, otherwise I think I would have read the whole book in one sitting, haha.

The book was really interesting and showed the sides of being a celebrity that we don't often hear as much about: dealing with managers, being chased by paparazzi, dealing with tabloid rumors, and handling pushy parents who try to make Kelsey's decisions for her. Parts of the book were a little sad as Kelsey dealt with various struggles, but I liked the relationship between Logan and Kelsey because I got a real sense of how much Logan cares for her cousin.

I also liked how the reader did not get a lot of background information in the beginning and learned much more about the characters and their relationships as the book progressed.  Maybe that is why I read so much so quickly--I couldn't wait to find out more!

Overall, I really liked this book for its intriguing story with fascinating characters, insight into celebrity life and family secrets. I finished reading it with a smile on my face and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good read!

Sunday Social!

Today I'm linking up with Neely and Ashley for a fun new link-up called Sunday Social!

Here are my answers to this week's set of questions:

How did you come up with your blog name?
I came up with the name of my blog when I started thinking about what my blog was going to be about---all of my favorite things! I have lots of favorites and love to share my opinions about random things and fun events going on in my life. The actual title came courtesy of my younger sister who I asked for suggestions for a blog title and this was the first thing that popped out! Yay Molly! (Also--we love The Sound of Music, haha..)

What is your favorite thing about blogging?
My favorite thing about blogging has been connecting with people I wouldn't have met otherwise. It is so fun finding new blogs, new blogger friends and hearing about people's lives in different part of the country!

What is one thing you have discovered because of blogging and now can't live without?
Hmm, this one is a tricky one.....I'm not sure I'd say that I've discovered anything I couldn't live without, but I definitely have loved finding a hobby that lets me incorporate my love of writing. I've always liked to write and this has been a really fun outlet!

Facebook or Twitter? and why?
I love Facebook, but keep my personal account separate from my blog, since I mainly use it to connect with friends and family, but I am thinking about maybe creating a page for my blog sometime soon.

Twitter is something I started a few years ago, right after it came out, but really didn't use it too much. Once I got an IPhone earlier this year, I quickly became addicted to Twitter--I love it! :)

If one celeb read your blog who would you want it to be?

Hmm, I would say Carrie Underwood because I'm fairly certain we were meant to be best friends in life. I adore her, her music and her style! Or maybe Ryan Gosling, so he would know that I want to marry him.....(ssshhhh--don't tell my boyfriend! Hahaha..)

What is something you want people to know about your blog?
The main thing I want people to know about my blog is that this a fun, random assortment of my thoughts on life! I love having a place to share my thoughts, ideas, favorites and events! :) :)
