Pinterest Wednesday and 100 Followers! :)

Happy Wednesday!! I'm linking up with Michelle at The Vintage Apple for Oh, How Pinteresting Wednesday (a little late today, haha...), but first,  I wanted to share how excited I was earlier today when I saw that I now have 100 followers! Wow! I appreciate all of you who read and comment on my (mostly) ridiculous and non-super-important  random posts about life! :) Thank you!!!

Onto my favorite pins of the week (side note: I almost always accidentally type "pints" instead of pins just about every time I type it, haha...)

1.) Oooh, these sound yummy! And I think they are probably kind of healthy? Healthy-ish? They are carrots after all, hah!

Sunday Social! :)

Today I'm linking up with Neely and Ashley for another week of Sunday Social!

1. What is something you have wanted to do but are afraid of?
Hmm, this is an interesting question. I'm afraid of a LOT of things (like a ridiculously high amount of things haha), but none that I still want to do, haha. I'm afraid of heights and although I can (somewhat reluctantly) do flying, I really don't want to do anything else height-related! I like my feet on the ground... :)

2. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Well, I'd like to be married and maybe have started a family by then, but that remains to be seen, lol...

One thing I'd definitely like to do in the next 5 years is to buy my own home--either a condo, townhouse or house! :) That's something I'm really looking forward to doing!

3. What are you looking forward to before the end of 2012?
I'm looking forward to lots of fun fall events: apple picking, wearing comfy sweaters and boots, football and enjoying fall weather before it gets too cold!

4. What are your hopes for your blog?
I just hope to make my blog something that's fun for people to read but more importantly, something that is fun for me to write! :)

5. Do you always see yourself living in your current town/city?
Yes! I love living in northern Virginia and I hope to stay here for a long time. It was a great area to grow up in and I still love being in the area as an adult too. It's close enough to Washington DC to do fun things like museums, concerts and events, although it would be nice if traffic wasn't so horrible! There are lots of great restaurants and malls in the northern Virginia area, and more importantly, most of my family! My parents and my older sister live in the area and it's great to be able to see them! My little sister recently moved to Richmond, VA and we miss her! :(

6. What is your morning routine?
My morning routine is pretty low-key. I usually have already thought about what I'm going to wear, although there are always last-minute changes, haha. I either straighten my hair or  put it in a fancy up-do a ponytail and then do my makeup. By this point, it's probably getting close to time for me to leave, so I usually quickly get together a breakfast (toast, oatmeal or fruit), grab my coffee and head out to work! Luckily, I live only about 3 miles from the school that I teach so I don't have to worry about a long commute--yay! :)

Friday's Fancies: Football Frenzy!

So I think I've mentioned it on here before but I am a HUGE Redskins football fan! I love them sooo much! Our family has season tickets and goes to the games pretty often. And we are just as crazy about them when watching the games at home too.. :)

This week on Long Distance Loving, the theme for Friday's Fancies is football frenzy, so of course I had to pick my favorite team to design my outfit around!! :)

september 21st - football frenzy

And here is what I came up with!

4.) I love this bag!! It's so cute and who cares if it's probably to big to be within the "regulations" at the football stadium. I only wish I was joking but seriously, FedEx Field has "required" dimensions that your purse has to be smaller than..I usually ignore it, hahaha! :)

Pinterest Wednesday!

Well, well, well. Helloooooo Wednesday! After last week literally seemed to last about 5 years, I have to say, this week is skipping on by. Yay!

I love Wednesdays for several reasons but mainly because I love linking up with Michelle at The Vintage Apple for Oh, How Pinteresting Wednesday!

My Pinterest obsession  interest has grown to an all-time high, but pssh..there are much worse habits I could have than spending lots of time pinning cute things! ;) :)

Here are some of my favorites:

1.) This is adorable! You print the pictures out on colored paper, cut them out and stick them in a frame! What a fabulous idea!

2.) Another cute craft! Small Christmas ornaments in a shadow box frame and voila! So pretty!

3.) Love this. So true....

4.) What a cool idea! Take out space from an extra closet (umm, who has extra closets in their room? That's what I'd like to know...hahaha) and turn it into a little office nook! Love it...

5.) Omg! So true! Just the other day, I went into Barnes and Noble because I had to pee SO bad. I later walked out of the store, having accidentally bought three new books. Ahh!! What is wrong with me? Haha. I just can't help it--I love to read so much!

6.)  Ahhhh hahaha! This is hilarious. And so true, lol.. :)

DIY T-Shirt Scarf

A few weeks ago, I saw this post on More from Meg about how to make a t-shirt fringe scarf and I thought it was absolutely adorable! I love anything crafty and do-it-yourself-ish, and this was about as simple of a project as I could imagine! (Except I didn't imagine it...I just copied it from someone more creative than me, haha!)

First step: Find an old t-shirt to say goodbye to as it's about to be cut up and refashioned! (Side note: I love Polo t-shirts and this color is sooo adorable, but sadly it shrunk in the wash--so I was glad I found a way to still use it!)

Second: Cut off the top part of the t-shirt. You will not need this part anymore!

Third: Cut small strips into both sides of the shirt all the way across the shirt. (I did have a little trouble keeping my cuts straight so there were a few I had to go back and trim a bit...)

Fourth: Drape it over your neck like so and enjoy your super cute new scarf!

Yep, it's basically one of the simplest DIY projects I've ever seen and it's sooo cute! Plus, it's recycling something old into a new and fun thing to wear. So it's kind of like I'm helping the planet stay healthy...one t-shirt scarf at a time, hahaha! :)

Sunday Social!

Sunday Social

Linking up today with Neely and Ashley for Sunday Social!

This Week's Questions:

1. 5 items you can't live without on a daily basis(water, food, shelter, and clothes dont count)

Oooh, I would have to say my Nook, my IPhone (I know, I know..), my Victoria's Secret lotion, Stacy's Pita Chips, and seltzer water! :)

Erin's Favorites

2. All time favorite book? Why?

Ahh!! I can't pick just one! The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks because it is very touching and sweet. A Circle of Friends because it is such a great story with interesting characters. Something Borrowed and Something Blue by Emily Giffin--she is an amazing writer!

3. Something you'd like to accomplish before the end of 2012

It has been a goal/dream of mine to write a children's book and I'm REALLY wanting to start it before the end of the year! It's just so hard to find time, being so busy with school!

4. If you could go back and relive any year of your life which year would it be?

Hmm, I would probably say 2006, my senior year of college, because I had such a great time with so many awesome memories with my group of girlfriends and other friends. I miss it! :(

5. What do you wish people knew about you without you having to tell them?

I can be kind of shy and reserved when first meeting people but once I get to know someone, I open up!

Birthday!

Oops! Didn't mean to take so long away from this little blog, but the first two weeks back at school have been (as usual!) quite crazy and soo busy!

Several things to share today....

* Today is my last birthday of my 20s---whaaaat??!? I feel old! My 20s are literally flying by! But I am so grateful to have such a wonderful family and awesome friends who have made this birthday a special day for me. And some of my adorable students, several of whom asked today "What do you want for your birthday?", "Do you like the color pink?" "What are your thoughts on sparkly things?" "What kind of collection do you have?" (I jokingly said nail polish and they thought that was the coolest thing! Haha...well the girls at least. The boys were looking at us like we were crazy....) Several of them made me cards, one gave me a cute hairclip, and they sang happy birthday as a class, two girls made a happy birthday cheer, and five girls performed a little happy birthday dance, choreographed and all...(I'm guessing that's what they did at recess??!? Hahaha...) So sweet!!

* I am SO happy it is the weekend! I'm ready to relax, spend some time with my family and hit up the outlets on Saturday! :) Yea!

Sunday Social! :)

What was your favorite trip/vacation/activity this summer?

The best trip this summer by far was my trip to Europe! London, Ireland, Paris-- I had the best time! :)

Favorite outfit look of the summer/clothing item?

I basically live in flip flops, jeans, and t-shirts during the summer! And sundresses on days I'm required to venture out of the air conditioning hah

What is one thing you wish you had gotten to do this summer?

Go to the beach! I absolutely love the beach and am pretty surprised that summer slipped away without going... Oh well!

Favorite Song of the Summer?

I like "Whistle" by Flo Rida. My boyfriend lives to do the whistling the whistle
part so I practically hear it in my sleep haha

Favorite movie/tv show of the summer?

Hmm, I didn't discover any new shows, but the summer season of "Pretty Little Liars" was sooo good!

I wish I could put in some fun pictures but I'm typing this on my iPhone
