DIY T-Shirt Scarf

A few weeks ago, I saw this post on More from Meg about how to make a t-shirt fringe scarf and I thought it was absolutely adorable! I love anything crafty and do-it-yourself-ish, and this was about as simple of a project as I could imagine! (Except I didn't imagine it...I just copied it from someone more creative than me, haha!)


First step: Find an old t-shirt to say goodbye to as it's about to be cut up and refashioned! (Side note: I love Polo t-shirts and this color is sooo adorable, but sadly it shrunk in the wash--so I was glad I found a way to still use it!)

Second: Cut off the top part of the t-shirt. You will not need this part anymore!

Third: Cut small strips into both sides of the shirt all the way across the shirt. (I did have a little trouble keeping my cuts straight so there were a few I had to go back and trim a bit...)

 Fourth: Drape it over your neck like so and enjoy your super cute new scarf! 

Yep, it's basically one of the simplest DIY projects I've ever seen and it's sooo cute! Plus, it's recycling something old into a new and fun thing to wear. So it's kind of like I'm helping the planet stay healthy...one t-shirt scarf at a time, hahaha! :)

Valentine's Day Craft

Today, I'm also linking up today with Hollie Takes Notes for Find Some Love Fest!

I decided to show a cute, simple craft that I am currently working on for Valentine's Day!

Each year, it is a struggle to find Valentine's Day cards for my class that are 

a.) not too boyish (and/or violent) 

b.) not too girlish or

c.) something that a 6th grader will at least somewhat like!

Well, the selections I saw at different stores this year were not so great, so I decided to make cards this year!

All I needed were these cute stamps:

And some white cards that became this:

I'm so happy with how they turned out and it was SO simple! :)

It is still a work in progress, as many of the cards still look like this, but that's okay! I still have a little time to finish them.

 I don't know if the kids will like them or not, but I enjoyed being crafty and I didn't spend any of my money on Robot, Sponge Bob or Justin Bieber Valentines...haha!

Three for Thursday!

Today's topic on I'm Blog Hoppin'  is Three for Thursday, so I'll be sharing a favorite font, a favorite blog, and a favorite online resource. 

Favorite Font

I just recently found this great website Kevin and Amanda that has lots of really cool fonts! It is SO hard to pick just one favorite, but I really do like this one:

Favorite Blog

Umm, this is SO hard! I have so many blogs that I read and it is really difficult to pick just one favorite...ahh! There's so many to choose from!

As far as teaching blogs go, I love reading Clutter Free Classroom and have gotten some great ideas for my classroom!

For crafty inspiration, I love reading Little Pink Monster --she has totally creative and fun ideas! (Every time I read this blog, I think "One day, (hopefully), I will be this talented too!" Haha! :) )

And for lots of laughter, great beauty tips, and a refreshing perspective on what its like to be a 20-something, I love reading Confessions of a 20 Something -- I can't tell you how many times I read this thinking, "That is exactly what I was thinking/hoping/feeling, etc." :)

Favorite Online Resource
As far as online resources go, I just recently discovered Pinterest and am REALLY liking it! It's so fun and so addicting! :)
