I have been busy with lots of things going on and an incredibly remarkable streak of embarrassing/ridiculous events.....
I hurt my ankle about a month ago and have been in a walking cast boot since then. You would think that this already annoying/painful injury would help me be extra careful to avoid situations that might get me hurt...but you'd be wrong...
Just in the past two weeks, I have:
- Almost tipped backwards in my chair at a staff meeting at my school (luckily, I don't think many saw me, haha!)
- Almost slipped on the tile walking through the hallway at my school on a rainy day....my class thought that was hilarious...(grr!)
-Almost tripped down the steps in the parking garage at my boyfriend's condo complex....the look of sheer terror on his face was kind of funny, except you know, I almost tripped down the steps....
At least the key word in those events is ALMOST....ahh!!

And when I'm not being clumsy, I can be counted on to create very awkward conversations...like this one that took place last week....
I usually get to school by getting a ride from someone in my family but one day last week, my parents were out of town and left very early that morning. My sisters also had to get to work really early and since my school has a late start time, I arranged to take a cab that morning. The cab driver came and I gave him the address of my school and then he asked me "How do you usually get there?".
I, for some dumb reason thought he was making small talk so I replied with "Well, usually, I carpool with my family, or sometimes a couple of my friends who I teach with, but today my parents are at a funeral in Pennsylvania and my sisters had an early meeting at work, and since my friend Emily is on a field trip, she couldn't come get me..."...and on and on...
The next ten seconds were the quietest, most awkward silence you can possibly imagine until the driver said "I meant what route do you normally
take to get there fastest?"
OMG! I wanted to crawl under the seat, or
climb out the window...sooooo embarrassing! I have no idea why I thought
he would want to know how I normally get to school, haha!
